Group Says Nigeria Democratic Congress Represents “Hope For The Common Man”_
UMUAHIA – The Ijere Network Movement has declared full support for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the party as the hope of ordinary Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Media Director, Amb. Gideon Osinachi, the group also commended the Chief Executive Officer of the Ijere Foundation, Sir Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe, for what it called his “unwavering commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.”
“We sincerely appreciate Sir Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe for his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians through the activities of the Ijere Foundation and for introducing many people to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC),” the statement read.
The Movement said the current political landscape shows that the NDC represents inclusion and justice for the masses.
“From the current political landscape, we believe the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) represents hope for the common man in Nigeria,” it stated.
The group praised Sir Adighibe’s advocacy for a political system free of intimidation and division.
“He has expressed the view that political intimidation and unnecessary division should come to an end and that Nigerians deserve an environment where every citizen can freely participate in the democratic process without fear,” the statement noted.
The Ijere Network also drew attention to challenges in rural communities such as economic hardship, insecurity, kidnapping and banditry.
“We support every lawful effort aimed at addressing these challenges and improving the welfare of Nigerians,” the group added.
Referencing the recent “Village Boys and Girls” rally in Umuahia in support of the OK Campaign Movement, the group quoted Sir Adighibe as urging supporters to remain steadfast.
“He encouraged supporters to remain committed to the cause of improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians. He expressed confidence that those who oppose positive change would ultimately fail to stop the people’s desire for a better future,” the statement said.
The Movement pledged continued loyalty to its “economic and political mentor” and to the growth of the NDC.
“As the executive members of the IJERE NETWORK Movement, we assure our economic and political mentor of our continued support and cooperation. We remain committed to working together in pursuit of our shared political objectives,” it stated.
The group also made a direct appeal to NDC leadership ahead of 2027.
“May we equally use this medium to request that Our leader and other top members of NDC Will work hard to secure our votes come 2027. The ljere network and Village Boys and Girls Movement will make sure that every vote is counted,” Amb. Osinachi said.
The statement ended with solidarity slogans for the Movement, Foundation, Party and Nation.
