2027: Momentum Grows For Etugo Ndubuisi Ogah As Abia Governorship Race Heats Up

As campaigns gather momentum ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Abia State, the governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Chief Etugo Ndubuisi Ogah, has intensified consultations and grassroots mobilization across the three senatorial zones of the state.

Ogah, who has been meeting with stakeholders, youth groups, women leaders and traditional institutions, said his aspiration is driven by the need to reposition Abia for inclusive growth, industrialization and accountable governance.

Speaking during an interactive session with supporters in Umuahia, the NDC candidate said Abia has enormous human and material resources that have remained underutilized, noting that his administration, if elected, will focus on job creation, SME support, and revamping moribund industries.

“Our mission is clear – to build an Abia that works for everyone. We want to create an economy that supports our young entrepreneurs, strengthens our markets, secures our communities and restores confidence in government,” Ogah said.

He added that his blueprint, anchored on Transparency, Infrastructure, and Human Capital Development, will address critical areas including road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, agriculture and rural development.

Party leaders in the state described Ogah as a candidate with capacity and grassroots appeal, expressing confidence that the NDC is gaining traction as an alternative platform in Abia.

State Chairman of the NDC in Abia said the party has commenced ward-to-ward sensitization and membership drive to ensure victory in 2027.

Supporters at the meeting pledged to mobilize voters across the 17 Local Government Areas, saying the party’s message of renewal and service delivery resonates with Abians yearning for change.

Ogah is expected to continue his tour of local government areas in the coming days as part of efforts to unveil his manifesto and engage directly with the electorate.
