“Gov Otti Has Always Been Our Back Bone”, Prof Okoro

Against the backdrop of the relocation of some departments in the Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic Aba, to the new Osisioma Campus, the Rector, Prof. Christopher Kalu Okoro has expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far.

Prof Okoro while speaking to Dreamnews in a telephone chat over the weekend said the staff and students are satisfactorily adapting to the new environment.

His response is hinged on a recent inspection tour at the new site to assess the progress made in the construction of new hostels and other ongoing projects in the campus.

“The staff and students are really adapting to the new environment. This is because, before the transition, we tried to put in place the basic needs for the take off to make it seamless”.

“I can assure you that the situation here is satisfactory”.

“You have to also know that, we didn’t just transit, we first have to look at the major requirements they need, such as transportation, power, among other things”.

“We didn’t want them to experience difficulty or complain about anything in the course of their stay here”.

“Other departments will follow suit in no distant time. We are doing it in phases so that the whole process will be seamless”.

“On the construction works going on, the contractors are at their best, trying to maintain specifications and ensure timely delivery”.

“In all these, I cannot fail to applaud our dynamic and education friendly governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, for his commitment to this project. He has always been our back bone”.

“All these wouldn’t have been achieved without his unflinching support”.

“And then the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof Uche Eme Uche has been very helpful. I cannot stop commending her input in all these”.

“Her appointment as the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education is one of the best the governor made. She is a round peg in a round hole”.

“Prof Uche Eme Uche is cut out for this job”.

“Then, the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TetFund, is also playing their part very well”.

“In fact, what we have achieved today is a result of collaborative efforts. All these people pooled resources together for a common goal and that is what you are seeing today”.
