The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Karibe Ojigwe, has promised quality representation and a major turnaround for the constituency if elected into the Federal House of Representatives in 2027.

Ojigwe made the pledge on Wednesday in Umuahia during the official unveiling of all NDC candidates for the 2027 general elections. He spoke in an interview with newsmen.

The former international footballer expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious at the polls, citing his antecedents and track record of service to the people.

“Bende Federal Constituency will experience a major turnaround and quality representation if elected in 2027,” Ojigwe said. My confidence is based on what I have done for our people over the years and the trust that Ndi Bende have in me.”

He said his decision to run is driven by the need to bring purposeful leadership, attract federal presence, and ensure that the voice of Bende is heard and respected at the National Assembly.

Ojigwe explained that he carefully chose the Nigeria Democratic Congress as his political platform because of the credibility of its leadership and its commitment to good governance.

“I chose NDC because of the personalities in the party, including former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi. The party represents discipline, accountability and service to the people — values that align with my vision for Bende,” he stated.

He added that the NDC offers a fresh alternative for Nigerians who are tired of politics of bitterness and godfatherism.

Ojigwe called on the people of Bende North and Bende South to support his ambition and vote massively for the NDC in 2027.

“This is not about Karibe Ojigwe. It is about the future of Bende. It is about our youths, our women, our farmers and our small businesses. I urge you to support me and the NDC with your ballots in 2027 so that together we can build the Bende of our dreams,” he appealed.

The NDC candidate said his legislative agenda will focus on youth empowerment, education, healthcare, agriculture, road infrastructure and attracting federal projects to Bende.

He promised to run an accessible and accountable office, maintain regular engagement with constituents, and ensure that federal resources meant for Bende are properly utilized.

The official unveiling in Umuahia featured other NDC candidates from across Abia State, with party leaders charging them to run issue-based campaigns.
