Bende 2027: Ofuji On Rescue Mission To Deliver Constituency From Poor Representation – Okorie

The Chima Anyaso Campaign Organization says the 2027 election for Bende Federal Constituency will be about rescuing the area from years of abandoned projects, substandard infrastructure and poor representation.

In a statement on Tuesday by the Special Assistant on Strategic Communication, Emenike Okorie, the campaign said for almost eight years, Ndi Bende have endured neglect and inadequate representation.

Okorie said across the constituency, the evidence is visible in abandoned projects and poorly executed infrastructure, with roads deteriorating barely months after commissioning.

He cited recurring controversies around federal projects, including allegations of budget padding and questionable insertions. A glaring example, he said, is the N348 million Garri Processing Plant reportedly captured for Umuhu Ezechi, which has generated questions about its status and whereabouts.

“Bende deserves better,” Okorie said, adding that the 2027 election presents an opportunity to replace the politics of acquisition with politics of service, accountability and measurable results.

According to him, that is the mission of Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji.

“Ofuji has repeatedly made his position clear: ‘I will not steal from Ndi Bende; instead, I will put my personal resources to develop Bende.’ Beyond words, his record of private initiatives, philanthropy, empowerment and community interventions demonstrates a commitment to investing in people and communities,” Okorie said.

He said Ofuji will usher in a new philosophy of representation where public office is seen as responsibility, not entitlement, and where projects are built for durability rather than publicity.

Okorie listed Ofuji’s priorities to include quality and durable road infrastructure, standard educational infrastructure across the 13 wards of Bende drawing from the model of the Ahuoma Anyaso Educational Foundation Nursery and Primary School in Igbere, quality healthcare delivery, youth and women empowerment, and support for farmers to strengthen food security.

“Above all, Ofuji will pursue purposeful, accountable and people-centred representation—representation that listens to the people, responds to their needs and measures success by tangible improvements in their lives,” he added.

“Bende does not need another era of abandoned promises and questionable projects. Bende needs a new beginning,” Okorie stated.
