The member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Chinasa (Abiola) has called on youths in his constituency and Abia in general to desist from drug and substance abuse, cultism and other social vices.

Hon. Chinasa made the call while fielding questions from newsmen in Umuahia over the weekend.

The Lawmaker’s statement is coming on the heels of recent road mishaps and cult related deaths witnessed in the state, stressing that life is precious and should not be lost carelessly.

Making allusion to his letter, dated 18th march 2026 and addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, the Lawmaker supported a request made by the youths of urban ward 3 to set up a volunteer group against drugs abuse, cultism and other related vices.

He assured the public of the government’s commitment to their safety, calling for calm and urged everyone to go about their legitimate business without fear or favour.
