ANYASO FELICITATES NIGERIAN WORKERS ON 2026 WORKERS’ DAY CELEBRATION May 1, 2026
A Labour Party Chieftain and founder of the Chima Anyaso Foundation and Ofuji Movement, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has congratulated Nigerian workers, particularly workers in Abia State and the good people of Bende Federal Constituency, on the occasion of the 2026 International Workers’ Day celebration.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the annual May Day celebration, Dr. Anyaso described workers as the backbone of national development whose dedication, resilience, and sacrifices continue to sustain the nation’s economy and public institutions.
Workers’ Day, celebrated globally every May 1, is set aside to honour the contributions, struggles, and achievements of workers and the labour movement toward improved working conditions and social justice.
According to the statement signed by the Secretary General of the Ofuji Movement, Chief Emenike Okorie on his behalf, “Nigerian workers remain critical partners in governance and development, noting that their commitment to service, professionalism, and productivity drives societal progress despite prevailing economic challenges”.
Dr. Anyaso commended the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, for his worker-friendly policies and deliberate efforts toward improving workers’ welfare, restoring dignity in the civil service, and enhancing productivity across the state. He expressed optimism that Abia workers would reciprocate government’s commitment through renewed dedication, efficiency, and excellence in service delivery.
The philanthropist further urged workers to remain steadfast, patriotic, and united in the pursuit of a prosperous Abia State and a stronger Nigeria.
Dr. Anyaso reaffirmed his continued support for initiatives that promote workers’ welfare, empowerment, and inclusive development within Bende Federal Constituency and beyond.
He wished all Nigerian workers a peaceful and rewarding Workers’ Day celebration.
