The Abia Patriots Salute Otti, Ndi Abia As State Emerges First In Citizens Satisfaction
The Abia Patriots, TAP, has commended the leadership of Dr. Alex Otti for delivering what it called “milestone governance that is now being recognized nationally,” and has appreciated Ndi Abia for their foresight in 2023 when they shunned the transactional offers of the APC, PDP and others, and chose competence.
The commendation follows new national reports ranking Abia State No.1 in overall Citizen Satisfaction with a score of 3.86 out of 5, and No.1 in Capital Project Prioritization and Expenditure per resident at approximately ₦137,253 per person, with 77% of total expenditure dedicated to capital projects. Abia also emerged 3rd Most Improved State nationally on the Governance Momentum Index.
In a statement signed by the Secretary General of TAP, Mazi Adindu Madumere, the group said the results validate the decision Abians made in 2023.
“Ndi Abia, you saw what others refused to see,” Mazi Madumere said.
“When the merchants of transactional politics came with money bags, you chose a man with capacity, character and a blueprint. Today, Abia is number one in citizen satisfaction. Abia is number one in putting people’s money where it matters — on roads, schools, hospitals and jobs. That is not luck. That is leadership.”
TAP noted that the ranking is not just about statistics. It is about lives.
1. Restored Trust Between Government and People:
For the first time in years, Abians believe government can work. That trust is reducing apathy and increasing civic participation.
2. Dignity and Hope:
With capital projects prioritized, communities that were abandoned are seeing light, water, and motorable roads. The ordinary trader, teacher and farmer now feel seen.
3. Reduced Migration:
As Aba, Umuahia and other towns become more functional, our youths and diaspora are beginning to look homeward again for business and investment.
4. A New Political Culture: Abia has proven that performance, not propaganda, is what wins the people. That sets a new standard for politics in the Southeast.
“The economic dividends are already unfolding,” Mazi Madumere stated.
1. Being No.1 in capital expenditure per resident signals to investors that Abia is serious. Money is following the projects.
2. 77% capital spending means construction, services, and SMEs are booming. That translates to jobs for our youths.
3. Improved infrastructure in Aba and other commercial hubs is lowering cost of doing business. Goods can now move, and markets can thrive.
4. Prioritizing capital over recurrent spending means more value for every naira, and less waste. That is sustainable development.
While celebrating, Mazi Madumere warned Abians not to let their guard down.
“The same hawks who succeeded in stealing your joy in 2015 and 2019 have regrouped on another platform,” he said.
“After failing in their pernicious scheme in 2023, they are back — this time mobilizing Nigeria people’s money to play the old game of vote buying and rigging. Their mission is to displace the best performed Governor in the country and drag Abia back to the slumps.”
He described them as “political wolves in sheep skin” who have no new ideas, only old tricks.
“Be circumspect. Do not sell your tomorrow for today’s rice and money. They had 8 years and left us with debt and decay. We cannot go back.”
Mazi Madumere challenged Abians that the battle to sustain the transformation is not Governor Otti’s alone.
“This is our fight,” he declared.
“The strategy is clear. We must make it an all Labour Party win. Labour Party All The Way, 36/36. Give LP all the votes: the Governorship, the 3 Senatorial seats, the 8 House of Representatives seats, and the 24 House of Assembly seats.”
He explained that a fully aligned legislature will give the governor the backing to consolidate reforms, pass pro-people laws, and block sabotage.
“Don’t let them buy your conscience. Don’t let them rig your future. Go to your polling units. Mobilize your street. Defend your vote.”
“Abia has risen from the ashes,” Mazi Madumere concluded. “From rejection to recognition. From the bottom to number one in citizen satisfaction”.
Let us protect this progress. Let us finish what we started.
“Ndi Abia, Labour Party All The Way, 36/36.”
The Abia Patriots said it will immediately commence grassroots mobilization across the 17 LGAs to ensure the gains of the Otti administration are protected and expanded.
