Ogbonnaya Onu Poly Staff Pass Vote of Confidence in Rector Kalu
Staff of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, have passed a vote of confidence in the Rector, Engr. Dr. Christopher Okoro Kalu, citing his leadership style and performance since assuming office.
The vote of confidence was conveyed during the institution’s monthly Academic Board Meeting held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
At the meeting, Dr. Kalu reaffirmed his commitment to staff welfare and called on workers to maintain a positive attitude in carrying out their duties.
“I want you people to be happy always so that you can impact on our students likewise,” the Rector said.
“I want you to be intentional in your actions. Whatever concerns your welfare is paramount to me.”
He noted that a motivated workforce is key to achieving the polytechnic’s academic and infrastructural goals, and assured staff that their welfare would remain a top priority of his administration.
The Academic Board meeting brought together heads of departments, deans, and other principal officers to review academic activities and administrative matters ahead of the new session.
Staff representatives at the meeting commended Dr. Kalu for what they described as “people-centered leadership” and pledged continued support for policies aimed at repositioning the polytechnic.
