Former Abia SSG Endorses Godwin Adiele, Commends His Representation

A former Secretary to the Abia State Government and two-time Commissioner for Information, Chief Ralph Egbu has thrown his weight behind Ukwa West Legislator Godwin Adiele, describing him as one of the most impactful and people-oriented leaders to have emerged from Ukwa land in recent times.

The Ozar Ukwu-born statesman, veteran journalist, and former Chief Press Secretary to both military and civilian Governors of Abia, said Adiele stands out for his accessibility, strategic interventions, and unwavering commitment to the dignity of the people he serves.

Chief Egbu stated this on Tuesday in a post on his social media handle.

“Goddy Adiele for me is one of the greatest leaders to have emerged from our land, He remains approachable and reachable. His interventions are strategic and executed with dignity to the human person”.

“He has verifiable achievements outside the task of lawmaking. He has my endorsement and support now and beyond this season. He is a good man.”

The former SSG, who served Abia at various capacities under the PDP before defecting to the Labour Party in 2024, noted that his endorsement is not driven by partisanship but by Adiele’s proven record of service beyond legislative duties.

According to Egbu, Adiele’s ability to connect with constituents, understand local dynamics, and deliver interventions with tact has set him apart in Ukwa West politics.

Egbu himself has remained active in shaping Ukwa’s political direction. Earlier this year, he led hundreds of PDP and APGA leaders from Ukwa West into the Labour Party, citing Governor Alex Otti’s achievements in governance and infrastructure as the driving force behind the realignment.

He said leaders like Adiele, who combine legislative responsibility with direct impact on the ground, are critical to sustaining the momentum of development across Ukwa and Abia at large.
