Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has been described as a visionary, transformative, purposeful, and sensitive leader whose governance is deeply rooted in the genuine interest of his people.

This high commendation was given by the Chairman of the Governing Council of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba (formerly Abia State Polytechnic), Mr Stanley Egege, during a multifaceted event held on Sunday at Engr. Egege’s home of ituahiafor in Itungwa Obingwa Local Government Area.

The remarks were made at a reception following a memorial service, the official opening of two newly constructed bungalow parsonages built for the Anglican Church in Ituahiafor Itungwa, and a house dedication.

The event was held in honour of Mr Egege’s late parents, Mr. Nathaniel Onyemazuya Egege, who was laid to rest on January 27, 2025, and Mrs. Victoria Nwada Egege, who was laid to rest on February 7, 2003.

Speaking at the gathering, Mr. Egege highlighted Governor Otti’s people-oriented approach to governance, pointing out that Abia State is experiencing a noticeable shift toward sustainable development and impactful leadership. He noted that the governor’s dedication to restructuring key sectors, including education and infrastructure, reflects a leader who listens and acts in the best interest of the citizenry.

In the spirit of giving back and supporting the local community, Mr. Egege used the occasion to distribute various palliatives aimed at empowering the good people of Obingwa LGA. The beneficiaries included local residents, members of the Labour Party, and members of Ihediche, a dedicated political structure established to support grassroots development.

Mr. Egege expressed his profound gratitude to the members of the Ihediche structure, praising their unwavering commitment, love, and continuous support for both his vision and the administration of Governor Alex Otti.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Coordinator of the Ihediche political structure, Hon. Nwamuo, commended Mr. Egege for his exemplary philanthropy. Hon. Nwamuo thanked the Governing Council Chairman for his deep love for his community and his steadfast dedication to selflessness, noting that such gestures complement the state government’s efforts to lift vulnerable citizens and foster unity across Abia State.
