“Bende Deserves Facts, Not Distractions” –Ofuji Media Defends Dr. Chima Anyaso Amid Political Attacks

“Group Says His Record Of Philanthropy, Job Creation Predates Politics, Urges Issue-Based Campaigns”

BENDE – The media team of businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, have called on the people of Bende Federal Constituency to focus on facts and records rather than “slogans and distractions” as the 2027 political season approaches.

In a statement issued by Ofuji Media and made available to newsmen on Monday, the group was reacting to a recent publication titled, “We Say No to Dr. Chima Anyaso”, describing it as “long on slogans but short on facts.”

“Democracy is strengthened by constructive debate, not by name-calling, labels, or attempts to diminish the reputation of individuals who have invested their lives in the service of humanity,” the statement read.

The group said Dr. Anyaso has built a reputation across Bende and beyond as an entrepreneur, employer of labour, and compassionate leader long before nursing any political ambition.

“Long before seeking elective office, he was touching lives through his personal resources, supporting widows, youths, students, entrepreneurs, religious institutions, and vulnerable families without occupying any public office or drawing from government funds. That record cannot be erased by political propaganda,” it stated.

The statement faulted those labeling him a “failure,” asking how a man who has created jobs, empowered youths, sponsored education and provided humanitarian support could be accused of seeking office for personal gain.

“A person whose philanthropy predates his political ambition cannot reasonably be portrayed as someone seeking public office merely for personal gain,” the group said.

Ofuji Media described Dr. Anyaso’s leadership philosophy as one built on compassion, enterprise, innovation, and people-centered development, adding that his track record shows leadership is about “lifting others and creating opportunities.”

The group also defended the democratic right of every qualified citizen to contest elections, saying the electorate, not propaganda, should decide.

“Elections are not battles against individuals; they are opportunities for the people to evaluate ideas, competence, vision, and capacity. Supporting an incumbent is legitimate. Equally legitimate is supporting a challenger whose vision inspires hope,” the statement noted.

It argued that if Dr. Anyaso could achieve so much as a private citizen, he would be in a better position to attract development, empower more youths and women, and improve education and healthcare if elected.

The group urged political actors in Bende to keep campaigns civil and issue-based.

“As the political season unfolds, let campaigns be based on facts, records, and ideas, not insults, ridicule, or misinformation. The future of Bende deserves mature conversations that unite rather than divide our people,” it said.

The statement concluded that the people of Bende are discerning and will judge candidates by character, competence, vision, integrity, and proven commitment to the welfare of the people.

“No amount of negative rhetoric can erase years of genuine humanitarian service or prevent the electorate from making an informed decision,” the statement added.
