Abia Rights Group Flays New APC Chair, Says He’s Myopic
A Frontline Civil Society Organization, The Abia Patriots, TAP, has criticized the newly elected state chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC in Abia State, Mr Chijioke Chukwu over his assertion that Abia is in a state of “motion without movement”, describing the comment as “myopically inaccurate” and “a gross misrepresentation of traceable facts*.
According to the Secretary General of TAP, Mazi Adindu Madumere, the new Abia State Chairman of APC decided to play blind Bartimaeus.
He pointed out that there are several initiatives that attest to the fast tempo of developmental trajectory in Abia State.
Madumere enumerated some of the initiatives and projects of the state government under Dr Alex Otti to include the Abia Green Shuttle Service which he described as Nigeria’s first electric mass bus transport system, which, according to him has reduced emissions, transformed road mobility in Nigeria, thereby massively enhancing seamless movement from one location to another.
The TAP scribe noted that the reconstruction of the Omenuko Bridge has ended decades of fatal crashes and economic isolation for farming communities.
He further pointed to more than 140 Roads constructed or reconstructed by the present administration in Abia State Including Umuahia to Arochukwu, Arochukwu Amuvi road, and Port Harcourt road in Aba. Tuition-Free Education in Abia which he said prioritized Abia’s future and timely and regular payment of Salaries of Abia workers.
“These projects demonstrate Abia’s productive motion, which continues to translate to tangible movement, thereby contradicting Hon Chukwu’s claim.”
He urged the APC chairman to focus on uniting his party’s members rather than what he called myopically spreading unfounded misconceptions about Abia’s development.
“He may just need help with a new set of lenses in order to see better”, he concluded.
