Abia PDP Concludes House of Reps Primaries As State Chair Clinches Ticket
The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, has released the results of its House of Representatives Primary election conducted on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Announcing the results in Umuahia, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Dr Ikenna Onuoha said the election followed the prescribed Electoral Act, and in line with the PDP Constitution 2017 as amended.
“However, this election followed the prescribed Electoral Act, and in line with the PDP Constitution 2017 as amended, and as well as the Electoral Act”.

According to Onuoha, the election which produced candidates in four federal constituencies was conducted through consensus and affirmation mode.
“And the party charged us to adopt two modes of election. Number one is consensus. And where consensus is not reached, the party mandated us to adopt Direct primary election”.
“And in this election, consensus was adopted in all the federal constituencies. And that is why the election is free, fair, and credible”.
For Obingwa/OsisiOma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, Akpulono Solomon won it.
For Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Humphrey Chukwudi Benson emerged.
For Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency, Ajuziogu Roland was elected.
And for Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency, we have Amah Abraham Nnanna,
While he congratulated the winners, he commended the party members for their peaceful conduct throughout the time process of the election.
“So on behalf of PDP that appointed us to this position, I want to most humbly thank the Chairman of Abia State PDP for creating an enabling environment that is free from rancour, acrimony, and violence”.

“I want to appreciate him and other members of the party for making this election free and fair and credible”.
“Mr. Chairman, thank you for that opportunity. However, gentlemen of the press, this election is described as one of the most freest and most credible elections in the history of primary elections in Abia State”.
