Abia Lawmaker Calls For political Consciousness Among Women

The member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Anthony Chinasa, has called on women to be politically conscious, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to a women’s political support group, Ugo Chinasa Women, Honourable Chinasa encouraged them to look at the score cards of political office holders before deciding who deserves a second term.

The lawmaker made reference to the popular saying that “one good turn deserves another, he encouraged the women to scrutinize politicians who would come with “sugar coated words” to win their votes.

“When a child delivers well in the first errand, such a Child will be sent again”.

Hon. Chinasa reminded the women of the situation in Abia State before the emergence of Dr Alex Otti as governor and urged them to imagine where the state would be in the near future under the leadership of Dr Alex Otti.

He noted that the administration of the Labour Party has clearly distinguished itself from others in the State and as such, deserves a second term.

He assured the women of his continued efforts in bringing more dividends of democracy to his constituency through quality representation, while presenting some of his achievements so far, including attraction of developmental projects, sponsoring of people oriented bills and motions, among other things.
