Bende Youths Frontier Demand Accountability From Hon. Ijiriji

A group, Bende Youths Frontier, BYF, has called on the member representing Bende South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ndubuisi, popularly known as Ijiriji, to publish details of projects executed and how funds allocated to the constituency have been utilized.

In a statement endorsed by the Coordinator, Comrade Dennis Ike and made available to journalists on Tuesday, the group said transparency and accountability are critical to ensure that dividends of democracy reach the people of Bende South.

The youths said they are not accusing the lawmaker of any wrongdoing, but that constituents have the right to know what projects have been attracted, completed, or are ongoing in the area since he assumed office seven years ago.

They listed areas of concern to include constituency projects, empowerment programs, education support, and other interventions meant for Bende South.

The Bende Youths Frontier urged Hon. Ndubuisi to, as a matter of urgency, release a comprehensive report to the public through town hall meetings, media briefings, or published documents.

They added that such openness will build trust between the representative and the people and also set a standard for good governance in the constituency.
