Abam Onyerubi Pledges Support For Gov. Otti’s 2027 Bid, Commends Projects In Abam Land

The people of Abam Onyerubi have expressed deep appreciation to the Abia State Government for the numerous developmental projects sited in Abam land under the administration of Dr. Alex Otti.

Speaking on behalf of the community on Wednesday, the Eze Ogo of Ndi Oji Abam and Chairman of Abam Onyerubi Eze Ogo in Council, Chief Uka Oji, said the people are solidly behind the governor and will give maximum support for his reelection in 2027.

“We are happy with what the governor is doing in Abam generally, we are going to support him with our votes. Abam people have agreed to stand behind our governor with our votes.”

Chief Oji noted that the visible projects across Abam have strengthened the bond between the people and the state government.

“The people of Abam Onyerubi have said they appreciate the government for the numerous developmental projects situated in Abam land by the government of Dr Alex Otti of Abia State,” he said.

“Because of this, we pledge to give maximum support for the reelection bid of the governor in 2027,” Chief Oji added.

He said the administration’s interventions in infrastructure, healthcare, and rural development have had direct impact on Abam communities.

There Is Unity In Abam Land

The traditional ruler also addressed recent rumours suggesting division within Abam Onyerubi, describing them as false.

“I want to tell those people saying we have factions in Abam that Abam is one. We are not divided. We believe in one thing and we work together to achieve our common goals”, he added.

He warned individuals spreading discord to desist immediately, adding that the council will not hesitate to wield the hammer by way of strict sactions, especially if such an one enjoys traditional privileges of any kind.

No One Speaks For Abam Without Authorization

Chief Oji further made clarification on the proper channel for communication on matters affecting Abam, urging the public to verify information before circulation.

The community leader urged the public to disregard one Chief Ogbonnaya Nwosu who recently in a statement indicted some Abam sons of conspiring with the government to cede Abam land to Presco Limited adding that Chief Nwosu does not speak for Abam people and should not be taken serious.

He warned Chief Nwosu to be guided in his utterance or risk being deposed of his traditional right.

“Abam has not asked anyone whosoever to speak on their behalf on any matter. I heard that one Chief Ogbonnaya Nwosu accused our sons of planning with the government to sell our land. Let me tell you, what Nwosu said is not true. Let it also be known that he does not speak for Nde Abam. He is on his own. If he continues, we will take his traditional rights, including the chieftency title. The public is advised to seek information from the appropriate authorities,” he stated.

Vote Of Confidence On Abam Appointees

The Eze Ogo in Council also passed a vote of confidence on all government appointees of Abam extraction serving in the Otti administration.

“Nde Abam is happy with our sons, especially Chief James Chijioke Ume , we want to thank him for all the things he is doing for Abam. Not only him, other illustrious sons of Abam who are contributing meaningfully to the development of Abam, we thank you all.”

“Let me also make it clear that we have full confidence in all the sons and daughters of Abam appointed into the administration of Governor Alex Otti. Those who are disparaging them are mischievous people who want to score cheap political points”.
