“No Sanitation Exercise For This Month”, — Abia Govt

The Abia State Government has announced the cancellation of this month’s Environmental Sanitation Exercise earlier scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Ministry of Environment and signed by the P.R.O, Obioma Chidinma on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna.

The statement however urged citizens and residents to maintain cleanliness in their homes, offices, streets and immediate environment, noting that sanitation is a continuous responsibility and not just for designated exercise days.

The government encouraged proper waste disposal, clearing of drainage channels, and a stop to indiscriminate refuse dumping.

It also commended Ndi Abia for their continued support in the government’s efforts to promote a clean, healthy and environmentally sustainable Abia State.
