Kepukepu Not An Official Of Abia Govt, Does Not Speak For Otti Administration – DG Strategic Communication

The Director General of the Abia State Strategic Communication Bureau, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka, has clarified that popular content creator, Tochukwu Ogbuagu, known as Kepukepu, is not an official of the Abia State Government and does not speak for the Governor Alex Otti-led administration.

In a statement issued on September 22, 2026, Ememanka said he had been inundated with calls from supporters of Governor Otti complaining about some posts made by Kepukepu which they said were capable of stoking crisis, with many wondering if his views represent the position of government.

Ememanka said an official clarification had become necessary.

He acknowledged that Kepukepu, through his brand of photojournalism and narration, has given visibility to many projects of the Otti administration and played a key role in disseminating information about the governor’s works, for which he deserves credit.

“However, the position is that Kepukepu is not an official of the Abia State Government and does not speak for the Otti administration. He is not an employee of the Abia State Government and consequently, his views and opinions on any issue do not, by any stretch of the imagination, represent the official position of the Government of Abia State or that of Governor Alex Otti,” Ememanka stated.

He described Kepukepu as a private citizen journalist and independent content creator who uses the good works of the administration to keep his followers informed and entertained, noting that Governor Otti is a marketable leader and Kepukepu’s popularity is understandable.

According to him, passion cannot translate into officialdom, stressing that accredited persons who speak for the Abia State Government and the Otti administration are well known.

“When Kepukepu speaks or writes, he does so in his personal capacity and not for the Otti administration, something that is within his democratic right to do. Neither the Abia State Government nor Governor Alex Otti can be held directly nor vicariously liable for his views under any guise whatsoever,” he added.

He urged the general public to be properly guided.
