Abia Orientation Agency Marks 3rd Anniversary With Community Service In 17 LGAs

The Abia State Orientation Agency, ABSOA, has marked the third anniversary of its re-inauguration by Governor Alex Otti with community service across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.

The exercise, coordinated by the Agency’s Local Government and Ward Officers, featured sensitization on environmental sanitation, traffic control, cleaning of public spaces and other initiatives aimed at promoting responsible citizenship and community development.

Speaking after the exercise, the Director-General of the Agency, Lady Ure Abazie, said the anniversary offered an opportunity to reflect on its achievements in the last three years, particularly in value reorientation and communicating government policies and programmes to the people.

Abazie said changing mindsets and attitudes is a gradual process that requires resilience, patience and sustained engagement, stressing that the Agency will continue to deploy various platforms to promote positive values across the state.

She urged Abians to embrace positive values, shun social vices and support government’s developmental efforts by protecting public infrastructure and taking ownership of projects in their communities.

The DG thanked Governor Otti for his vision and commitment to reshaping mindsets and restoring ethical standards, noting that the re-inauguration and strengthening of ABSOA has provided a strategic platform for advancing the vision.
