Abam Onyerubi Council Suspends Ezeogo E.O. Okafor Indefinitely Over Alleged Impersonation

The Abam Onyerubi Council of Ndi Ezego has announced the indefinite suspension of Ezeogo E. O. Okafor of Ndi Okereke Abam from all affairs of the Council.

In a letter dated September 23, 2026, addressed to Ezeogo Okafor, the Council said the action was taken over his persistent disregard for its lawful directives.

According to the letter, Ezeogo Okafor had been expressly warned to desist from representing, speaking for, or parading himself as a representative of the Council, but allegedly treated the warning with contempt and continued to impersonate and misrepresent the Council before the public, government institutions and other stakeholders.

The Council said his actions have brought the revered stool and institution of Ndi Ezego in Abam Onyerubi to public ridicule and embarrassment, describing his conduct as gross indiscipline, insubordination and a flagrant violation of the customs, norms and code of conduct of the Council.

Consequently, the Council resolved to suspend him indefinitely from participating in all affairs, activities, deliberations, meetings and functions of the Abam Onyerubi Council of Ndi Ezego with immediate effect.

It further directed that he shall cease forthwith from representing or parading himself as a representative, agent or member of the Council in any form, and shall not wear, use or display any paraphernalia, insignia or title pertaining to Ndi Ezego of Abam Onyerubi during the period of the suspension.

The Council added that the suspension shall remain in force until he shows genuine remorse and the Council deems it fit to reconsider his case.

It warned that any further act of impersonation or defiance would attract more stringent disciplinary measures, including handing him over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.

The letter was signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Abam Onyerubi Council of Ndi Ezego.
