Bende Federal Constituency Bridges Digital Divide As Tijani Commissions NUCAP Telecom Tower
Another important milestone towards digital transformation was achieved Friday, October 16, 2026 in Bende Federal Constituency, as the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, commissioned the first telecommunications tower under the Nigerian Universal Communications Access Project (NUCAP).

The tower, designed to extend reliable mobile and broadband connectivity to underserved communities, was commissioned in Bende.
The federal lawmaker representing Bende and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu, who received the Minister, said beyond enhancing network connectivity, the initiative is critical to driving financial inclusion, expanding access to education, improving healthcare delivery and creating new opportunities, particularly for people in rural communities.

The lawmaker extended appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to expanding digital infrastructure across the nation, as well as to Dr. Tijani, implementing agencies, network providers and all partners contributing to the success of the project.
“The goal is simple: to connect our people, empower our communities and create more opportunities for every community,” the Rep member stated.

The legislator reaffirmed commitment to ensuring that no community in Bende Federal Constituency is left behind in the ongoing digital transformation, pledging to continue working to connect communities, improve access and deliver meaningful impact for the people.
