Blossom Life Foundation Dumps Deputy Speaker Kalu, Endorses Anyaso For Bende Federal Constituency
A support group, the Blossom Life Foundation, has withdrawn its support for the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, and endorsed Dr. Chima Anyaso as its sole candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during a visit to Dr. Anyaso led by the Foundation’s National President, Comrade Edward Israel.
Israel said the organisation had decided to redirect its political support to Anyaso, whom he described as a brother deserving of their collective backing.
He disclosed that the Foundation would formally notify the Deputy Speaker of its decision through his Director General.
“After the end of today, we will write him through his DG that we have done a U-turn and are going to work for my brother. He deserves to be supported,” he said.
“We can assure you that in Bende, we will stand by you. It is game over. We have come here to officially tell you and endorse you as our sole candidate,” Israel added.
Responding, Dr. Anyaso thanked the group for the endorsement, saying the unfolding political developments were divinely ordained and expressing confidence in his chances at the polls.
“There is nothing that happens without God’s approval. If you are from Bende, it is clear to me, as it is clear to you, that we are winning this election,” Anyaso said.
The Labour Party candidate pledged to ensure that the constituency gets its due share of dividends of democracy, stressing that his ambition was driven by a desire to offer honest representation.
“Whatever is due to Ndi Bende, I am going to bring it back to our people. What I need from the Federal House is to go and represent our people with honesty,” he stated.
“With God and your help, if you help us get to this position, you will never regret it,” he assured them.
Anyaso said his approach to representation informed the preparation of his Bende Prosperity Contract, tagged “Walk With Me,” which he said was developed after consultations with communities across the constituency.
“That is why we took our time to prepare a contract with Ndi Bende. This is not your usual manifesto where people copy and paste. We visited all the communities so we could meet them at the point of their needs,” he said.
According to him, the document sets out proposed priorities in agriculture, education, healthcare, youth development, infrastructure and enterprise, and is intended as a framework for accountability.
