“Good Governance Is About The People”, — Oba Moses Urges Abia Voters To Prioritize Credibility Ahead Of 2027

Hon. Oba Moses, Chairman of Chairmen of all Markets in Abia State and Chairman of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba, has defined good governance as leadership that prioritizes the daily needs of citizens, urging Abians to elect credible and accountable leaders in the 2027 general elections.

He made the call during an interview with renowned Abia-based journalist and media personality, Chuks Ogbu, popularly known as Chuks The Pundit. The discussion focused on leadership values, public accountability, and voter responsibility.

Defining good governance, Hon. Oba Moses said it goes beyond politics.

“Good governance is simply a government where the government prioritizes the needs of the people”. “It is not about politics. It is about roads, security, markets, schools, and how the ordinary citizen lives daily”, he stated.

He added that sustainable leadership must be built on character.

“It is a government where credibility, honesty, and competence is considered a habit. When those three things are constant, the people will trust government and development will be faster,” he explained.

The market leader pointed to the current administration in Abia State under Dr. Alex Otti as an example of people-focused leadership.

“We are seeing efforts to rebuild trust between government and citizens”. From infrastructure to transparency, the focus appears to be on what the people need. That is the standard we should keep.” Hon. Oba Moses said.

He described Governor Otti as “a man of the people.”

With 2027 approaching, Hon. Oba Moses urged Abia electorates to take their civic duty seriously.

“I urge the electorates to ensure they participate in the election. And beyond participation, we must ensure that credible, honest and accountable leaders are voted into power”, he said.

He cautioned against voting based on money, sentiment, or popularity, warning that poor leadership choices hit traders, artisans, students and families the hardest.

“If we want good governance to continue in Abia, then we must elect people who see public office as service, not personal gain,” he concluded.
