IGBERE, BENDE – The Labour Party’s House of Representatives candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 election, Dr. Chima Anyaso, has charged Nigerian youths to take personal responsibility for their actions and remain accountable in all their dealings.

Dr. Anyaso, popularly known as “Ofuji,” made the call on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, when he received the Executive members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Bende Local Government chapter, at his country home in Igbere.

Addressing the youth leaders, Ofuji stressed that character and integrity must come before ambition.

“I want to encourage you, our youths, to ensure that you are transparent, accountable, and committed in whatever you do. A good name is better than riches. Whatever position you find yourself today, do it well, because people are watching and your record will speak for you tomorrow,” he said.

The 2027 hopeful described the youths as the foundation of the nation’s future and urged them not to wait to be handed leadership.

“The youths are leaders of tomorrow, but tomorrow starts today. You must remain resolute, prepare yourselves, and be ready to take up leadership positions that will shape the future of Bende, Abia State, and Nigeria at large,” Anyaso added.

He also assured the NYCN of his continued support through the Ofuji Foundation, noting that youth development and empowerment remain central to his political vision.

NYCN Bende Pledges Support

Responding on behalf of the council, the Coordinator of NYCN, Bende chapter, Comrade Hosanna Ukomba, expressed gratitude to Dr. Anyaso for granting them audience.

“We thank Ofuji for giving us this audience and for the fatherly advice you have given to our youths. We are encouraged, and we pledge to give you the necessary support as you push for a better Bende Federal Constituency” Comrade Hosanna said.

The youth council further pledged to work closely with the Ofuji Foundation in grassroots mobilization and in advancing the philanthropist’s humanitarian initiatives across the 13 wards of Bende.

The meeting ended with a call for sustained collaboration between political leaders and youth groups to foster peace, development, and responsible leadership in Bende Federal Constituency.
