2027: Ukwa Sets The Button For Maximum Performance

As the build-up for the 2027 general elections gathers momentum, the Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency has reset the button for maximum performance in the election.

At high voltage stakeholders meeting of the two local government areas (Ukwa East and Ukwa West) held at the country home of the Labour Party House of Representatives candidate for the constituency, Engnr Adinigwe Ugochukwu Nwoke, the Labour party faithful and constituents resolved to drum support for the re-election of Governor Alex Otti and the Labour party.

A statement by the Labour Party in the constituency, said the party would mobilize new members into the party to start again with far greater impetus.

The party also agreed to work as a unit, keeping aside any grievances to ensure Governor Alex Otti’s returns in 2027 and emphatic victory for all the candidates of the party in the next polls.

The meeting which took place on Friday, June 19, 2026 was an avenue to meet the Labour Party candidates, review past activities, identify challenges and set the ball rolling for a new order.

Present at the meeting include: member representing Ukwa East/West in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Goody Adiele, Louis Obianyi, the Mayors of Ukwa East and Ukwa West with their LG Executive members, a two time House of Assembly member, Hon. Ngozi Ulunwa, former Secretary to the Abia State Government, Chief Ralph Egbu, LG and Ward Coordinators of Abia Arise Group among others.
