Hon Nkem Uba Rallies Support For Otti, Donates Books, Rice To Schools
The councilor representing Oboro Ward 2 in the Ikwuano Legislative Council, Hon Nkem Uba has urged pupils and students of private and public primary and secondary schools in his ward to remain steadfast in their quest for academic excellence and hold firm to values such as hard work, adding that Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has shown commitment to enhancing quality education.
Hon. Uba made the call during interaction with students on the sidelines of a visit where he distributed 10,000 exercise books to the schools.
The distribution project, which kicked off on May 11, 2026, covered students from Nursery 2 to Senior Secondary School 3, while teachers in the benefiting schools also received learning materials and bags of rice.



The benefiting schools include: Amaoba Secondary School Amaoba ime Oboro, Amaoba Central Primary School, Divine Excel Sharon Academy (Primary/Secondary), Divine Will Academy (Nursery Primary school), Migrant Farmers (Nursery/ Primary), United Umudike Community Junior Secondary School, Model Primary School school Umudike.
Others are: Umudike Community Primary School. Sancta Maria Holy Trinity (Nursery/Primary), Behold He Cometh Nursery/Primary School Umudike, Michael Okpara University Staff School, Bethel Academy Assemblies of God Amaoba Ikputu Oboro, Speedy learners International Junior Secondary School and MOUAU Demonstration Secondary School Umudike.



Apart from the educational support, the councillor donated bags of rice to students of the Faculty of Law, Abia State University Extension, Umudike (male/female hostels)
He also donated bags for rice to staff mangememt of the primary and secondary of the benefiting schools.
Hon. Uba also facilitated the installation of solar powered street lights approved by Alex Otti to illuminate areas around the university gates, hostels and reading halls, including sections of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.
Addressing the beneficiaries during the exercise, Hon. Uba applauded the level of academic excellence displayed by pupils and students in the schools visited, describing education as a vital tool for societal development.
Reacting, residents and students in Oboro Ward 2 of Ikwuano Local Government Area applauded Nkem Uba for his kind gesture.
They expressed appreciation for the gestures, pledging continued support for the administration of Governor Otti, describing Nkem Uba as a committed grassroots leader whose performance aligns with Governor Otti’s development-driven leadership style.



Hon. Uba seized the occasion to commend Governor Otti for giving him the opportunity to serve in his administration, while thanking members of his team and constituents for their continued support, while commending the management of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike and the Faculty of Law, ABSU Extension, Umudike, for their cooperation.
He then harped on the need to register and obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card in order to be eligible to vote in 2027



Among members of his team present during the distribution were Mr. Chimela Onyiaka, Mrs. Ngozi Okparaocha, Mr. Nwagu Emmanuel, Mr. Ejike Okpechi Boniface, Lady Cynthia Anyanwu, Mr. Ikechukwu E. Chukwunyere, Mr. Silas Kenneth and Mr. Chukwudi Nelson.
