2027: Abia NDC Inaugurates State Working Committee
The Abia State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC, has elected Chief Ako Atuloma as the substantive state chairman of the party following the successful conduct of its state Congress in Umuahia on Monday.
Chief Atuloma, alongside other members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party were elected through the consensus and affirmation mode.

Speaking on behalf of the other state executive members, Chief Atuloma assured the party faithful of a transparent and inclusive administration, promising to promote internal democracy within the party.
“I want to assure you that we are going to run an open and transparent administration. We will not tolerate any act of corruption or laxity or any act that will promote disunity in this party”.
“We will do everything possible to ensure that there is peace and harmony in this party”.

Chief Atuloma announced an end to the era of imposition of candidates in the party, assuring the delegates of seamless democratic processes within the party.
“One of the sources of problems in a party is the imposition of candidates. Under my watch, there will be no imposition, there will be no Abuja connection. Everything that concerns Abia State must be decided in Abia State”.



“If you are going to go for the primaries to be our candidate, you must be prepared to walk through the tunnels of decency, so that when you emerge, you will be proud to say, you the mandate of your party to seek the vote of the people”.
“People who don’t have the mandate of the party to seek the vote of the people are the people who corrupted the democratic process. And NDC is a product to stop this act of indecency. And in Abia state, which is the number one state, we are going to set an example for every of all the chapters of this party to see what it means to run in a democratic system”.
He further appreciated the delegates for their dedication and peaceful conduct throughout the processes of their ward, local government and finally, the state congresses.
“As you’ve got the assurance, I want once again, thank you for your patience, thank you, because it’s not easy”.
“So, I want to say thank you to all of you. What you have done today from the process of this election, you have given us a challenge and you people have given us the support and all we need to succeed”.
“And I want to assure you that this executive you have here, I tag it a vehicle of grace. And because we have a vehicle of grace, we will succeed in 2027. We don’t believe in making noise, we believe in results and our results will speak for us in 2027”.
