“Prof.Okoro Has Restored Confidence in Staff and Students of O.O. Poly”, — SUG President

The Student Union Government, SUG, of the Dr Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic Aba, has applauded the Rector of the school, Prof. Christopher Kalu Okoro on his outstanding performance in piloting the affairs of the school.

The President of the SUG of the institution, Comrade Michael Maduka gave the thumbs up during an interview with Magic FM in Aba on Thursday.

According to him, the advent of Prof. Okoro has changed the atmosphere in the school to a level beyond imagining.

Comrade Maduka said the institution faced difficulties before the appointment of Prof. Okoro in 2024. He said the morale of staff and students were in their lowest ebb, saying there was no enthusiasm to attend lectures and other academic and extra curricular activities.

“Over the years now, we have been facing a lot of difficulties in terms of lectures in terms of the atmosphere of learning. Students have been complaining while our lecturers have been owed over the years”.

But since our own governor in the person of Dr. Alex Otti, who came on board and appointed Prof Okoro, everything has been moving smoothly. Our lecturers have been enjoying their allowances. The government has been paying them their salaries and the students have been enjoying the school. It has been a great honor.

“And I also appreciate our own capacity rector right now, Prof. Christopher Kalu Okoro, he’s a man of integrity, and he has been doing a great job”.

On her part, the Vice President of the Student Union Government, Comrade Ebby Faith Chinaza who featured alongside Maduka described Prof Okoro as a leader with listening ears adding that the Rector has restored confidence in students and staff of the institution.

She said Prof. Okoro has reshaped the relationship between students and staff which she said has rekindled zeal and improved teaching and learning the school.

Both leaders posited that the Rector has made things easier for them and according to them he is ever ready to attend to every need of students, while urging parents and guidance to be confident in bringing their wards to the school.

They appreciated the governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti for his intervention and infrastructural transformation in the school, describing it as unprecedented.
