“Our Children Are Out of School, We Find it Difficult to Eat”, Reinstated Health Workers Cry Out

The reinstated Health Workers in Abia State, South East Nigeria have appealed to the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti to pay their two years salary arrears, stemming from 2024 till date.

Speaking to newsmen over the weekend, the affected workers lamented that since their recall, the government under Dr Alex Otti is yet to pay their salaries since 2024.

The state government under the administration of Governor Alex Otti elongated years of service for health workers, (doctors and nurses) by five years which brought about the call back of the previously retired workers.

According to them, since they came back, the state government has not paid them any salary nor pension which they said has made their living conditions, miserable.

They therefore called on the Accountant General of the state to implement the Governor’s directive and commence their payment or at least pay their pensions so they can go back home and enjoy their retirement.
