2027: Govt House Still In Umuahia, Ememanka Replies PDP Candidate Anosike

The Director General of the Abia State Bureau of Strategic Communication, Onyebuchi Ememanka, has faulted the claim by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Dr. Kelechi Anosike, that he would return Government House to Umuahia within six months if elected.

Ememanka, in a statement on Wednesday, posted on his Facebook page, said Anosike made the promise during a radio programme on Wednesday esday morning.

“I am told that my good friend, the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate in Abia State, Dr. Kelechi Anosike said this morning on radio that if he wins the 2027 election and becomes Governor, he will return the Government House back to Umuahia within six months,” Ememanka stated.

Questioning the rationale behind the promise, the DG said the Abia State Government House has always remained in Umuahia and continues to serve as the official workplace of the Governor.

“I don’t understand. Return the Government House to Umuahia? Did the Government House go anywhere? Is it no longer in Umuahia? The same Government House where I have my office and work everyday? Government House, onokwagh la Umuahia?” he queried.

Ememanka said the statement was an indication that opposition candidates were struggling to find credible campaign issues against Governor Alex Otti.

According to him, Governor Otti has bestrode governance like a colossus, leaving his opponents with little or no serious issues to discuss.

“See what Governor Alex Otti has caused? There is nothing serious for his opponents to say again. The Governor has bestrode governance like a colossus and those running against him are now genuinely struggling to even find credible issues to discuss. But a candidate must say something naa,” he said.

He sympathized with opposition candidates, describing the current political climate as a difficult time to be in opposition in Abia State.

“Honestly, this is a very difficult time to be an opposition gubernatorial candidate in Abia State. KC Prof, my brother, jisike biko. This ije adigh easy at all,” Ememanka added.
