2027: Crusaders for Good Governance Initiative Rallies Behind Hon. Emeka Jacob Obioma, Vows Grassroots Mobilization For Labour Party

The political fortune of the Labour Party in Umuahia South State Constituency received a major boost on Wednesday, October 1, 2026, as the Crusaders for Good Governance Initiative (CGGI), Abia State chapter, declared its readiness to mobilize grassroots support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group made the declaration when its formidable team of leaders paid a solidarity visit to the Amachara residence of the Labour Party candidate for Umuahia South State Constituency and Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Jacob Obioma.

The visit, which coincided with the celebration of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, was also used to formally endorse the candidature of Hon. Obioma, Governor Dr. Alex Otti and other Labour Party candidates for the 2027 polls.

Speaking during the visit, the leader of the delegation, Chief Martins Ekueku, described Hon. Obioma as a silent achiever whose legislative and oversight functions have been remarkable and unprecedented in the constituency.

Ekueku noted that the lawmaker has distinguished himself through effective representation and impactful contributions on the floor of the Abia State House of Assembly.

“We are mobilizing the electorates for you. Hon. Emeka Obioma is a silent achiever and his performance is there for all to see. We are ready to go to the grassroots and ensure total victory for the Labour Party in 2027,” Ekueku vowed, pledging intensive grassroots campaigns for the party.

Responding, Hon. Emeka Jacob Obioma thanked the leadership and members of CGGI for the visit and their endorsement, describing them as experienced politicians and grassroots mobilizers who hold the ace in every election.

The Chief Whip said his emergence as the flag bearer of the Labour Party for Umuahia South is an act of God, and expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti and the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him.

Hon. Obioma applauded the Otti-led administration for delivering good governance and dividends of democracy to Abians, promising to continue to give his constituents effective representation and maintain a robust relationship with the Governor to ensure more democratic dividends get to the people of Umuahia South.

He called on Abians to continue to support the Labour Party government in the state, assuring that better days are ahead.
