Otti Receives Update On South-East Gas Distribution Programme, Assures Investors Of Support

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, received an update on the South-East Gas Distribution Programme from representatives of Gas Sync Limited, SAYS Energy Group and NNPC Gas Marketing Limited.

The project, endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources and Gas, seeks to promote the utilisation of gas to drive economic and industrial development in the country.

The delegation described Abia State as a critical industrial corridor in the South East and stressed the importance of the state to the successful implementation of the programme.

Governor Otti assured the delegation of the support of the state government for the realisation of the project and directed further engagement with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, to discuss in detail some of the demands made by the delegation.

The engagement is expected to facilitate the realisation of the project and strengthen energy reliability, promote cleaner energy and drive industrial growth in Abia State and across the South East.
