Police Arrest 27-Year-Old Man For Alleged Murder, Beheading In Adamawa Hotel

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Ali Haruna, in connection with the alleged murder and beheading of a woman in a hotel in Girei Local Government Area.

Haruna, who gave his permanent address as Kaleri, Maiduguri, Borno State, but resides in Digno, Fufore LGA, was arrested on Friday, August 14 over the death of the victim identified only as Aisha at a hotel named No Vex in Girei.

While speaking with journalists on Monday at the Police Headquarters in Yola, Haruna allegedly told investigators that he and the victim met for the first time, smoked Indian hemp, and had sex at the hotel before the incident occurred.

He also allegedly confessed to killing the woman and decapitating her.

The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.

“Haruna will remain in police detention until the conclusion of investigation, after which he will be charged to court,” Nguroje assured.

The police did not provide further details on the circumstances leading to the alleged killing.
