The Abia Patriots Highlight Benefits of Abia Green Shuttle

A Civil Society Group, The Abia Patriots, TAP, has thrown its weight behind the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti for opting for electric buses instead of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses.

The group in a statement on Tuesday, highlighted the merits of the electric buses to include net zero emissions, reduced risk of diseases associated with polluted air and reduced cost of transportation among other things.

The statement, signed by the Secretary General, The Abia Patriots, Mazi Adindu Madumere said the electric bus project is a significant step towards modernizing Abia State’s transportation system, adding that the electric buses would undoubtedly bring numerous benefits to Abians.

The Abia Patriots congratulated Governor Alex Otti on the commissioning of electric buses for Abians, which according to them is a milestone achievement that distinguishes the state as a pacesetter in the comity of states not only in Nigeria but on the continent.

It commended the governor for the initiative, while urging Abians to work together to make Abia State a model for sustainable development.

“We commend Governor Otti for this initiative and advise Abians to ensure the longevity of the buses by using them responsibly and maintaining them properly.”
