SOWORE RENEWS CALL FOR EGBETOKUN’S SACK
Popular Nigerian Activist and Politician, Omoyele Sowore, has once again renewed his call for the removal of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun from the office.
In a post on his verified social media handles, Sowore was reacting to a tragic incident in Ibadan, Oyo State capital where an undignified student was allegedly shot dead by stray bullets from the barrels of a police man on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

Reports say the student was on his way to write the ongoing West African Examination Council organized Senior School Certificate Examination when the sad incident occurred.
Sowore opined that if Egbetokun, whom he described as “illegal” inspector General remained in office, that nothing good would come out of the police.
He called for an end to the continued stay in the office of Egbetokun and an end to police brutality.
“The escalating issue of Nigeria police brutality and bestiality has returned with full force in the last few weeks. As long as retired, tired, and incompetent Kayode Egbetokun remains in charge as the Illegal General of Police, things will never change for the better”.
