South-East Prepares for Public Hearing on Constitution Amendment

Ahead of the Zonal Public Hearing
On the Review of the 1999 Constitution holding between Friday 4th – Saturday 5th, July, 2025 , the South East Senators of the 10th Assembly has arrived the zone.

Upon arrival, the contingent paid a courtesy visit to the governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah at the Lion Building, led by the Chairman, Senate Committee on South East Development Commission, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu.

The public hearing will centre on electoral reforms, State Police, state creation among other things.

By this, the public is expected to air their views on the aforementioned sections of the constitution for proper review and amendment.

Recall that the National Assembly had fixed 4th and 5th of July for the public hearing which will take place simultaneously in all the six geopolitical zones across the federation.
