“People Who Distort Facts Are Desperate For Power” — Chief Iheanyi Chinasa

The Abia State Chief Liaison Officer at the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Iheanyi Chinasa said preliminary findings on the independent media verification of the projects attracted and executed by the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, as published by his (Deputy Speaker’s) media office has vindicated him.

This is coming on the heels of different publications by various media organizations including Dream Media System, publishers of Dreamnews which contradicted the claims by the media office of the Deputy Speaker.

The office had listed a number of projects in Bende Federal Constituency which was scrutinized by journalists who discovered that most of the projects listed were either non-existent or half done.

Reacting to this, Chief Chinasa said it is obvious that some politically exposed persons in the state are only desperate for power, without patriotic disposition.

Speaking to newsmen in a telephone chat on Thursday, the former House of Representatives candidate of the Labour Party for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2023 elections said it is disheartening that some politicians delight in distorting facts to earn public sympathy and trust.

He therefore called on Ndi Abia to remain unshaken by the political gimmicks of opposition politicians and throw their weight behind Dr Alex Otti to deliver more democracy dividends to the people.

“You can see I am vindicated. It is true that the project Verification is still ongoing but the preliminary findings has proven otherwise. What was said is not what is on the ground. It did not in no way reflect the true position.”

“These people laying these claims are just desperate for power. They do not have the welfare of the people at heart. It is unfortunate that some Hon. Benjamin Kalu would distort facts, just to gain public approval against the reality on ground.”

I want to call on Ndi Abia to remain focused and continue to support the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti, OFR as he continues to bring dividends of democracy to the people.
