Mrs Okoro Celebrates New Year At An Orphanage
As part of her efforts to bring succour to the less privileged, wife of the Rector of Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic, Mrs Geraldine Okoro has donated food items and other gifts the the children at Agape Charity Home Ubakala in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.
Speaking to newsmen on Saturday, January 3, 2026, Mrs Okoro said the gesture was to give the motherless children a sense of belonging and to give them a positive outlook in the new year.

She recalled that while other people were in their homes celebrating with family and loved ones, the children were confined to a particular place with no place to call home
“The children have no place to go. They have no place they can call home. And a lot of people are enjoying the festivities in the comfort of their homes.”
It is just good to celebrate the new year with this wonderful kids. It is not their fault that they found themselves in the situation they are right now.
“But in the spirit of the new year, we brought these items to make them feel the love of a mother. We want to make them understand that they are not abandoned or rejected.”
I also call on other individuals to join hand and make life easier for the children.
“Mrs Okoro also commended the propriator of Agape Charity Home for the good job she’s been doing, while encouraing the staff and management not to relent”
Mrs Okoro maintained that her actions was inspired by Her Excellency, the wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti.
Speaking on behalf of the management of Agape Charity Home, Miss Jacqueline Okonkwo expressed unreserved gratitude to Mrs Okoro for remembering them home.
