JUNE 12: ABIA LP PAYS TRIBUTE TO HEROES OF DEMOCRACY

In commemoration of 26 years of uninterrupted civil rule in Nigeria, the Labour Party in Abia State has felicitated with Abians and Nigerians in general on June 12 Democracy Day.

In a message signed by the state chairman of the party, Hon. Sir Emmanuel Nwaeze Otti, the party paid tribute to heroes of democracy in Nigeria while acknowledging the sacrifices of the forebears who fought tirelessly for democratic rights and freedoms.

The statement further acknowledged the contributions of Nigerian leaders and the citizens, and encouraged all and sundry to continue to hold on to the principles of democracy. This is even as the party recognized the journey so far and the task ahead.

Democracy Day Message
To our fellow Abians and Nigerians

On this historic occasion of Democracy Day, June 12, marking 26 years of uninterrupted civil rule in Nigeria, the Labour Party in Abia State extends warm felicitations to you all. Today, we commemorate the triumph of democracy and the resilience of our nation.

We honor the sacrifices of our forebears who fought tirelessly for our democratic rights and freedoms. Their courage and determination paved the way for the democratic dispensation we enjoy today.

As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the progress we have made and the challenges we still face. We acknowledge the efforts of our leaders, citizens, and institutions that have contributed to the growth of our democracy.

We urge all Nigerians to continue to uphold the principles of democracy, including transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. Let us work together to strengthen our institutions, promote good governance, and ensure that our democracy serves the interests of all.

To our fellow Abians, we take pride in our state’s rich cultural heritage and our contributions to Nigeria’s growth. We remain committed to promoting democracy, social justice, and economic development in our state.

As we mark this Democracy Day, we reaffirm our commitment to building a better Abia for all. Let us strive to protect the New Abia where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities, justice, and peace.
