Jubilation As INEC Recognizes Nenadi Usman As LP Chair
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has hailed the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to recognize Senator Nenadi Usman as the authentic Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party in Nigeria.
Reacting to this, the governor said the rule of law has been restored in the Labour Party, in line with the Supreme Court ruling that nullified the tenure of Julius Abure.
“What INEC did by recognizing her as the Labour Party Interim National Chairman, is to further validate her leadership as one that is worthy of emulation,” Otti said.
Governor Otti said the LP is a law abiding political party that has always respected court rulings.
He then extolled the Abia State chapter of the party, ably led by its chairman, Sir Emmanuel Otti for standing with the Nenadi Usman led Caretaker Committee of the party.
On his part, the state Chairman of the party, Sir Emmanuel Otti described the recognition by INEC as a victory for democracy.

“What INEC did today is a victory for the people and a democratic process. Senator Nenadi Usman has demonstrated that she is a leader that is not only acceptable but also one that has continued to pay her dues to build a sustainable democracy in our country,” he said.
Sir Emmanuel Nwaeze Oti commended INEC for upholding the rule of law, saying that the decision would serve as a deterrent to political leaders who may want to exploit the party’s structure for selfish ends. He then called on members of the Labour Party to rally round the Interim National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, describing her as a “unifying factor” capable of building an enduring legacy for the party.
