Former Governor of Abia State, Senator Theodore Ahamefule Orji has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

In a letter addressed to his Ward 1 Chairman in Umuahia North Council Area, the former senator who represented Abia Central Senatorial District said the resignation it with immediate effect.

According to the letter, the former governor said his decision to leave the main opposition party was an outcome of wide consultations with family and associates.

He appreciated the party for the opportunities and experiences gained while he was a member of the party.
