FAYOSE SEEKS BAILOUT FROM TINUBU

As the 2027 general elections gather momentum, the political space in the country gets saturated by the day.

While the election is still some two years away, we have experienced political alignments and realignments in recent times.

On Saturday, the former governor of Abia, Benue, Ekiti and Rivers States, Okezie Ikpeazu, Samuel Ortom, Ayodele Fayose and Nyesom Wike, respectively, met with president Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Before now, there has been media speculation that the former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose is likely to join the ruling APC.

Most recently, Ayo Fayose has been vocal and critical of the Peoples Democratic Party. He’s be speaking good of the Tinubu led government.

Recall that Fayose is still facing corruption charges in court as charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

As according to former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole, “join the APC and your sins will be forgiven”, it is expected that as part of the moves to placate Foyose, he has to join the ruling party.

For this to happen seamlessly, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike who is very close to the president has to pave the way.

Ikpeazu and Ortom are members of the G-5 governors who has been working for the president even from the onset.

It is also in the media space that former governor Okezie Ikpeazu is in the Ambassadorial list recently released by the presidency.

In nutshell, the Saturday meeting with the president may not be unconnected with a bail out for Fayose.
