The Chairman of Eziukwu Road Market Aba, Hon. Ọba Moses has responded to the allegation by the Deputy Mayor of Aba South Local Government Area, Martin Azubuike.

Azubuike had in a video that went viral alleged that the leadership of the market, led by Hon. Ọba Moses had plotted to dispossess traders of their shops in the guise of reconstruction.

Reacting, Hon. Ọba described the allegation as “unfounded” and “deceptive”, saying it was a machination of mischievous intent.

Hon. Ọba who expressed disappointment at the attitude of the Deputy Mayor who according to him had at one time organized a protest and still accused him (Ọba Moses).

According to him, the behaviour of Martin Azubuike is a shameful one. The business mogul wondered why a person of Azubuike’s standing would descend so low as to lead a rebellion against the state.

“It’s a shame that a man like Mr Azubuike Martin who is expected to act honourably would stoop so low to the level of hiring some individuals to stage a protest against the State Government. I am even more disappointed with the fact that he accused me of having interest in the reconstruction of the dilapidated areas of the market”.

He went on to refute the claim that he is interested in receiving a contract for the reconstruction of the market, adding that every work done in the market has to be approved by Aba South Local Government.

“Any construction work at the market would always be approved by the Aba South Local Government, the legal owners of the market, not me or any member of my executives”.

Hon. Oba Moses urged the general public to disregard the accusations of Mr Azubuike Martin and his cohorts as it was only meant to misinform the public.
