EDO: TEENAGER DIES DURING TESTING OF FORTIFICATION CHARM

The police command in Edo State has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with the tragic end of a test run for a “fortification charm.”

The suspects, a self-acclaimed native doctor, Amechi Edozunor, and one Kelvin Ugru, allegedly performed a ritual on the victim, a teenager, Okonkwo Emmanuel who eventually died as a result.

Reports say the incident reportedly occurred in Iyamon Village, Ubiaja, in Esan South-East Local Government Area, and was reported to the police on April 2 by the deceased person’s elder brother, Onyenbushi.

The alleged charm was to fortify the deceased and make him “invulnerable to bottles.”

To test the effectiveness of the alleged charm, the teenager was reportedly struck with a bottle on the head, leading to a fatal injury.

The victim was reportedly rushed to Wisdom Hospital; He was subsequently referred to Ogbeide Hospital, where he died on April 5.

The sources said his remains have been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy, while both suspects are currently in police custody pending further investigation.
