Dr Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic Rolls Out Convocation Activities
The Dr Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic Aba has announced the date and chain of events for their 2025 convocation ceremony. Speaking to our correspondent, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Christopher Kalu Okoro Okoro confirmed the date to be from 3rd to 5th December, 2025.
According to him, the series of events lined up for the convocation would commence with an international press conference, to be held on the 3rd of December, 2025 in the school.
The press conference is expected to inform the public on the progress made so for by the school in the last one year and to bring the public up the date on the events and programmes of the institution.
The second day according to the Rector, will accommodate a public lecture which would be delivered by a Renowned business man and politician, Ide John Udeagbala, who was a former council boss in Aba.
The third day, December 5, 2025, would be the convocation proper where the Visitor of the School, His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti, the executive Governor of Abia State will be hosted.
The Rector also pointed out that the governor would visit the new Osisioma campus of the institution for an on the ground assessment of the level of work going on at the site as part of the activities for the convocation.
He further stated that there would be commissioning of projects within the school by the Governor to crown the day.
On the readiness of the certificates of the graduating students, Dr Okoro was emphatic that the certificates would have been duly signed and ready for issuance before the day, noting that all the students who have cleared every outstanding issues, including payments would have their certificates.
Speaking further on the choice of Ide John Udeagbala as the Guest Speaker, Dr Okoro said it was to give the people of ABA something they could easily relate to. He posited that ABA is a business hub and it would be impressive to have someone from the business bloc in the commercial city deliver the lecture.
He showered encomiums on the Executive Governor of the state, Dr Alex Otti for his continued support to ensure that the Dr Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic is brought to and enviable heights.
