Dr Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic, A Symbol Of Good Governance
The Dr Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic Aba has continued to experience massive infrastructural upgrade since the inception of Dr Christopher Kalu Okoro as the Rector of the institution.
According to reports by journalists who visited the school on a media tour confirmed there is appreciable improvement in the area of infrastructure development.
Speaking to newsmen in his office, the Rector, Dr Kalu Okoro said the successes recorded so far was as a result of the Governor’s love for education and his commitment to making meaningful impact in Abia while he serves as the governor of the state

He enumerated some of the areas that have received the golden touch of the governor, Dr Alex Otti.
He said, “If you juxtapose what we have now and what we had a year before now, a year ago, you can see that the difference is clear. it’s clearer than being clear. That is what leadership is all about, impartation.”
“Of course, you know, this is our ABC block. It was not looking this way until His Excellency came in and sorted out the problem.Then, look at this science block, that gigantic building there. In as much as it’s a project given by TETFund, His Excellency was instrumental to ensuring that it was completed. His Excellency also released funds for equipping it.”

“Of course, what is a science block without equipment? If you have a science block without equipment, it’s just as ordinary as just anything you can think about.”
Not only that, the sports complex of the institution was impressively rearranged by Dr Alex Otti. Dreamnews visited the Indoor Games complex and confirmed that it was equipped with modern sports equipment. The sports complex houses the Indoor Games complex and the gymnasium with state of the art gadgets.



The train moved to the communication center and witnessed a jaw dropping facility, equipped with world class equipment and props. It has a photo studio, theater and editing room, properly and tastefully equipped.



The Dr Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic also boasts of fully equipped laboratories, library and research facility one can be proud of.





Moreso, under the leadership of Dr Christopher Kalu Okoro, with support from the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, the institution has been able to produce waste receptacles for the Abia State Environmental Sanitation Agency, ASEPA, doors and windows for primary and secondary schools in the state.
Again, the school produces agricultural machineries for cottage industries such as cassava processing machines, palm oil processing machines and many more.


The textile and leather industry is not left out as the school has thousands of sewing machines for practical teaching and learning.



Dreamnews also visited the printing press and was greeted by a massive facility, equipped to the brim. According to Dr Okoro, the building was erected from the foundation to the roof by students and lecturers from the school.



One can only conclude that “When the right man is on the right job, the right results are produced.”
