The Labour Party in Abia State has commended President Bola Tinubu for conferring a posthumous national honour on Late Humphrey Nwosu, former Chairman of the defunct National Electoral Commission.

The Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party, Sir Emmanuel Otti in a statement on Thursday, June 12, extolled the role of the Late Professor Humphrey Nwosu in shaping Nigeria’s electoral processes and his unwavering commitment to democratic principles.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday conferred a posthumous national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger on the late professor during the joint session of the National Assembly to mark this year’s Democracy Day in Abuja.

The statement further acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s gesture, describing it as a motivation for future generations to emulate commitment to public service.
