Bende Political Stakeholders Slam Deputy Speaker Over Poor Projects

From every indication, it is apparent that the political feud between the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu and the government of Abia State, led by Dr Alex Otti are not ending anytime soon.

The political space of Abia State was heated up from the moment the Deputy Speaker, challenged Abians to appreciate President Bola Tinubu for making funds available to state governors to work, saying the real miracle worker is Mr President.

That submission of Hon. Benjamin Kalu did not go down well with a lot of people and as such received brut responses from various quarters, including the Abia State Chief Liaison Officer at the National Assembly, Chief Iheanyi Chinasa who challenged the Deputy Speaker to show proof of his constituency projects and cost of the projects.

Chief Iheanyi Chinasa also challenged Benjamin Kalu to have an independent media verification of the projects, offering to bankroll the tour of the Deputy Speaker is not willing to foot the bills.

Reacting, the Deputy Speaker, through his Chief Press Secretary, Livinus Nwabughiogu posted on his verified Facebook page, pictures of some of the projects attracted by the Deputy Speaker.

Consequently, a group, known as Bende Political Stakeholders embarked on an independent investigation and a fact-checking mission to ascertain the true position of things in Bende Federal Constituency, Abia North, Abia and the South East in general.

The group observed that some of the projects were haphazardly done and that it didn’t deserve the purpose of its construction.

Most of the projects according the the group did not last up to one year before they collapsed.

A visit to Mkpa, in Bende Local Government Area showed poorly constructed bridge that is still not accessible especially during the rainy season.

They visited some other project sites claimed to have been executed by the Deputy Speaker with picturials to back up their claimes that the Deputy Speaker delivered a poor job

Accordingly, the Bende Political Stakeholders urged Rt Honourable Benjamin Kalu to revisit the projects and of course explaine why a person of his standing would deliver such projects.
