Bende Community Cries Out Over Neglect By The Deputy Speaker.

The good people of Amoji-Imenyi, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State have raised deep concern over what they described as “deliberate exclusion” in developmental projects by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu.

In an open letter endorsed by one Emeka Loveday, —”a concerned citizen” of Amoji-Imenyi, the community decried the absence of any project attracted and executed by the Deputy Speaker, despite widespread media publications of various projects in Bende Federal Constituency.

The community expressed worry why they have not benefitted from any project as part of the constituency, wondering why they were being treated as “second class citizens.”

“This letter comes from a place of deep frustration, disappointment, and outrage — sentiments widely shared by the people of Amoji-Imenyi Autonomous Community, who have patiently watched your tenure pass without a single visible impact on our lives.”

“Amoji-Imenyi is part of Bende Federal Constituency. We are not outcasts. We are not second-class citizens. Yet, under your leadership, we have been treated as though we do not exist.”

“For years, we have watched how you preach that communities benefit from roads, schools, health centers, empowerment, — yet our community continues to suffer neglect, silence, and deliberate exclusion. What have we done to deserve this?”

Moreso, they called on the number sixth citizen of the country to look back and include Amoji-Imenyi in the scheme of things in order to enthrone fairness, equity, and inclusion.

“We are tired of political speeches, photo ops, and selective development. We demand fairness, equity, and inclusion. We demand that you remember that we too are your constituents — and we will not remain silent.”
